Logistics for the Hair Improvement Protocol

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains how progress tracking, renewals, prescriptions, and fulfillment work while you’re on the Hair Improvement Protocol.

Progress Tracking & Photos

Hair growth changes gradually, so visual tracking is one of the most reliable ways to monitor your progress. Your clinician may request updated photos at regular intervals. These photos help evaluate:

  • Changes in density

  • Hairline or crown coverage

  • Shedding patterns

  • Response to your topical or oral treatment

Your photo updates also help guide any adjustments to your treatment plan.

How Photos Are Used

Photos allow your clinician to:

  • Compare current and past density

  • Evaluate subtle changes not easily seen day-to-day

  • Personalize your treatment plan over time

You can upload photos directly through your patient portal when requested.

Renewals and Refills

Renewals depend on:

  • Your reported symptoms

  • Your photo-based progress

  • Any side effects or changes you’ve experienced

  • Your clinician’s medical judgment

If your clinician needs updated information before approving a refill, you’ll be notified in your patient portal.

How Prescriptions Are Filled

Depending on your personalized treatment plan, you may receive:

  • A topical prescription (e.g., compounded formulas)

  • An oral medication (e.g., oral minoxidil)

  • A combination of both, if appropriate

Once approved, prescriptions are:

  • Sent to a partner pharmacy

  • Prepared according to your specific formulation

  • Shipped directly to your address

Shipping and Fulfillment

Shipping timelines vary depending on the pharmacy partner and your location. Most orders are shipped from a pharmacy hub, and tracking information is typically provided once the order is fulfilled.

If your order is delayed or you suspect an issue, Support can assist with tracking or coordinating with the pharmacy.

State Availability

The Hair Improvement Protocol is offered in states where Maximus clinicians are licensed to provide care. If your address changes, availability may shift. Your patient portal always reflects the protocols available in your state.

Messaging Your Clinician

Use your patient portal to message your clinician for:

  • Questions about your progress

  • Changes in shedding or density

  • Scalp irritation or side effects

  • Clarifications about your treatment plan

Urgent symptoms or severe issues should be addressed through immediate medical care.
