Billing & Subscriptions

Learn how Maximus billing works, including subscription cycles, payment methods, HSA/FSA eligibility, and common reasons for payment issues.

Maximus operates as a cash-pay telehealth clinic. Insurance is not accepted.

Charges may include:

  • Membership fees

  • Clinician consultations

  • Diagnostic labs

  • Prescription medications (when prescribed)

Subscription Billing

Your subscription is billed on a recurring cycle based on the plan selected at signup. For most subscriptions, the billing cycle begins on the signup date. However, in cases like delayed medication shipment, the billing cycle may start when the medication is shipped to ensure fairness.

Billing continues each cycle unless the subscription is canceled before the next renewal date. For example, a 3-month plan will renew every three months, and an 84-day plan will renew every 84 days unless canceled.

Billing may occur even if onboarding steps are incomplete, so completing your intake promptly ensures the best experience.

Billing and Shipment Date Relationship

  • Independence of Billing and Shipment: Billing occurs based on your subscription renewal date and is not directly tied to when your medication ships. For example, refill shipments depend on the refill questionnaire date and the days’ supply originally sent, which may differ from the billing date.

  • Plan Changes and Billing: If you change your subscription plan before medications are processed or shipped, the payment can be reallocated. For instance, the amount paid can be applied as credit toward the new plan to offset future billing cycles.

Flexibility and Adjustments in Billing

  • Postponing Billing Cycles: As a one-time courtesy, Maximus allows users to delay the start of their billing cycle if they choose to postpone starting their medication. To request this, you can provide a desired new start date, such as after returning from travel. The updated billing cycle will be reflected in your Maximus dashboard.

  • Plan Change Timing: Subscription plan changes typically take effect at the next billing cycle. However, support can process the change earlier upon request. In cases where medication shipment is delayed, the billing cycle may be adjusted to start when the medication is shipped, ensuring fairness in billing.

Payment Methods

You can update your payment information through your dashboard at any time.

Changes apply to future billing cycles.

HSA / FSA Payments

Many HSA or FSA plans allow telehealth services and prescriptions as eligible expenses.

If your benefits provider requires documentation, itemized invoices or receipts can be provided.

Payment Failures

Payments may fail due to:

  • Expired cards

  • Billing address mismatches

  • Insufficient funds

  • Bank security blocks

Updating your payment information usually resolves the issue. If you change your subscription plan before medications are processed or shipped, the payment can be reallocated as credit toward the new plan to offset future billing cycles.
