Signing Up for Maximus

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Signing up for Maximus is a straightforward process designed to help your clinician evaluate your health, determine whether treatment is appropriate, and guide you into the right protocol. This article explains how the signup and review process works from start to finish.

How Maximus Works

  1. Choose your protocol
Review our offerings and determine what you’re looking for based on your specific goals and lifestyle.

  2. Complete your intake
Share your goals, symptoms, medical history, and other details to determine which personalized treatments are best for your goals and lifestyle.

  3. Clinician review
A licensed clinician evaluates your information and determines whether a protocol is appropriate.

  4. Diagnostic testing and video consultations (if needed)
Treatments such as TRT and certain weight loss prescriptions (depending on state law) require labs or video consults before prescribing.

  5. Personalized treatment plan
If you’re eligible, your clinician prescribes a protocol tailored to your needs.

  6. Prescription fulfillment & shipping
Prescriptions are sent to a partner pharmacy and shipped to your verified address.

Step 1: Choose Your Protocol

Start by selecting the area that aligns with your goals:

  • Testosterone Optimization or Replacement

  • Weight Loss

  • Hair Improvement

  • Blood Flow Support

  • Growth Hormone Production

  • Mood & Stress Support

Each protocol begins with a short intake questionnaire.

Step 2: Complete Your Intake

Your intake helps your clinician understand:

  • Your symptoms

  • Medical history

  • Current medications and supplements

  • Lifestyle factors

  • Treatment goals

Your clinician uses this information to determine eligibility and whether further testing is needed.

Step 3: Clinician Review

A licensed clinician reviews your intake to assess:

  • Whether treatment is medically appropriate

  • Any potential contraindications

  • Whether labs are required

  • Whether follow-up questions or a consultation are needed

Maximus follows state and federal telehealth laws. Prescriptions are issued only when:

  • Clinically appropriate

  • Legally permitted in your state

  • Identity and location verification are complete

If more information is needed, your clinician may message you through your patient portal.

Step 4: Diagnostic Testing and Video Consultations (If Needed)

Some protocols require laboratory testing. Your clinician will let you know whether you need labs to proceed, and Maximus will send you an at-home kit for testing purposes.

If you have recent labs from another provider, you may upload them; your clinician will determine whether they meet the requirements for your protocol. In some cases, specific markers or formats may be required.

Additionally, some protocols or health profiles require a video consultation before treatment begins. You’ll receive scheduling instructions if a consult is needed. If a consult is not required, your clinician may send additional questions through your portal instead.

Step 5: Personalized Treatment Plan

If you’re eligible for treatment, your clinician will:

  • Determine the appropriate protocol

  • Provide high-level expectations

  • Order any required medications

  • Set up follow-up timelines

Treatment begins only when your clinician determines it is safe and appropriate. Eligibility depends on your health profile and clinical safety requirements.

Your clinician may determine that treatment is not appropriate for your health profile. If treatment isn’t appropriate for you at this time:

  • Your clinician will explain the reasoning

  • You won’t be charged further for medication or further treatment (although fees associated with initial clinician consultations and laboratory testing are strictly non-refundable)

  • You may receive high-level guidance on next steps or alternative options

This ensures that care remains safe and medically appropriate.

Step 6: Prescription Fulfillment & Shipping

After your clinician finalizes your plan:

  1. Your prescription is sent to a partner pharmacy

  2. The pharmacy prepares your medication

  3. You receive tracking information once shipment begins

Support can always help if you have questions about order status or shipping.

From there, you’re all set! You’ll have ongoing access to your clinician through your patient portal for:

  • Non-urgent medical questions

  • Reporting symptoms

  • Reviewing lab results

  • Discussing progress

Your clinician will also let you know when follow-up labs or check-ins are needed. You’ll monitor your progress with your clinician via your Maximus portal, where you can share progress and consult them on any questions you may have about your medication and protocol.
