Why labs are required
Labs help your clinician evaluate your baseline health, confirm eligibility for treatment, monitor safety, and guide dosing decisions. Your clinician will only request labs that are medically necessary for your care.
When labs are required
Labs may be requested at several points in your treatment, including:
Before starting treatment (baseline labs)
After starting treatment (follow-up labs)
Before prescription renewals
After dose adjustments
If new symptoms are reported
Periodically to ensure ongoing safety
You’ll receive a notification when labs are required.
How to submit labs
You can submit labs in one of two ways:
At-home lab kits ordered through Maximus
External lab results uploaded through your patient portal
Uploaded files should be clear, legible PDFs or images. Your clinician will determine whether uploaded labs meet protocol requirements.
Fin can’t upload files on your behalf or view uploads in real time.
Lab review timeline
Once labs are submitted, most reviews are completed within several business days. Timelines may vary based on:
Lab processing time
Sample quality
Volume at the lab
Whether follow-up testing is required
Your clinician will contact you once review is complete.
What happens if results are abnormal
If your labs require follow-up:
Your clinician may request additional testing
Your clinician may message you with next steps
Treatment may be delayed or adjusted for safety reasons
When to contact Support
Contact Support if:
You’re unsure whether your labs uploaded successfully
It’s been significantly longer than the expected review timeframe
You’re having technical issues uploading files
For medical questions about results, message your clinician through your portal.
