How can I manage and request 90-day medication refills in Maximus?

How to request a 90-day medication supply, when 90-day plans are available, and how billing differs from monthly refills.

Managing your medication refills effectively helps you stay on protocol without interruption. This article explains how to request and manage 90-day medication refills through Maximus, including subscription details and common troubleshooting.

Overview of 90-day refill options

Maximus offers 90-day medication refills for many subscription plans. A 90-day supply covers three consecutive months of medication (for example, December, January, and February), replacing separate monthly shipments during that period. This option suits people who prefer fewer shipments.

Steps to request a 90-day refill

  1. Use the intake questionnaire. When completing your intake questionnaire, include your request for a 90-day supply in the free-form section. This ensures your clinician is aware of your preference.

  2. Message your clinician. You can also send a direct message to your prescribing clinician through the Maximus dashboard. Use the envelope icon at the top-right corner to communicate your request.

  3. Plan renewal. If your plan is renewing, wait for the renewal intake questionnaire to be released. You can then note your 90-day supply request in the free-form section of the questionnaire.

  4. Switching back to 90-day supplies. If you are currently on monthly shipments and wish to switch back to a 90-day supply, inform your clinician and include the request in your next refill questionnaire.

Subscription and billing

Quarterly billing. For some medications, such as Oxytocin Calming Cream, switching to a 90-day supply requires enrolling in a quarterly billing plan. This plan bills three months upfront instead of monthly. Make sure your subscription is updated to reflect this change.

Common issues and troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with requesting a refill, try the following:

  1. Check the Protocols / Subscriptions tab. Log into your dashboard and navigate to the Protocols (or Subscriptions) tab. Look for a "Start Intake" or "Complete Questionnaire" button next to your medication name.

  2. Understand the release rule. For some plans, the intake questionnaire is released 18 days after your last delivery. If it's been less than 18 days, the button may not appear yet.

  3. Contact support. If the questionnaire is missing, use the Messages tab to notify your clinical team, or contact support to reset or trigger your pending intake form.

  4. Complete required video evaluations. Some protocols require a video evaluation before refills can be processed. Schedule an appointment through the Visits tab on your dashboard.
