Blood Flow Protocol: Prescriptions, Refills, and Shipping

How prescriptions are filled, when refills are issued, and what to expect for shipping on the Blood Flow Protocol.

This article covers the prescription, refill, and shipping process for the Blood Flow Protocol. For information on what the medications do and how they work, see Blood Flow Protocol: Patient Guide.

Starting the protocol

If your clinician determines the Blood Flow Protocol is appropriate, they review the treatment plan with you through your Maximus portal. This typically includes:

  • The medication that best fits your health profile (tadalafil, sildenafil, vardenafil, or a customized formulation)

  • Medication instructions and dosing schedule

  • Safety guidance

  • Treatment expectations

  • Follow-up recommendations

Prescription fulfillment

Once your clinician issues the prescription, it's sent to a licensed pharmacy partner. The pharmacy prepares the medication and ships it to the address listed in your Maximus account.

For typical fulfillment timelines and tracking, see Prescription Fulfillment & Shipping.

Ongoing treatment management

During treatment, your clinician may monitor your progress through:

  • Follow-up questionnaires

  • Secure messaging in your patient portal

  • Periodic treatment reviews

These check-ins help ensure the protocol remains safe and effective.

Renewals and refills

Refills follow the standard Maximus renewal process β€” see Prescriptions, Refills, and Renewals for the general workflow. If your clinician has prescribed a specific refill cadence (daily protocol vs. as-needed), they'll confirm timing through your portal.

Messaging your clinician

You can message your clinician through your patient portal for non-urgent questions about symptoms or side effects, treatment progress, refill timing, or medication questions.

For account or scheduling issues, contact Maximus support.

For urgent or severe symptoms, seek emergency medical care and refer to the When to seek urgent care section in the Patient Guide.
