This article explains how billing works at Maximus, including renewals, plan changes, pausing your account, refunds, discounts, and payment options.
How and When Your Subscription Is Billed
Billing occurs when you sign up for a Maximus account, and continues through your treatment cycle and subsequent renewal dates.
The recurring cycle of your plan is based on your determination at initial checkout. Maximus offers monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual plans depending on the Protocol, with select incentives for some quarterly / bi-annual / annual plans:

Charges continue each billing period unless you cancel before the next renewal. Please note that billing occurs even if you have not yet completed your medical questionnaire or received treatment. To get the most out of your Maximus subscription, please make sure to complete your onboarding process.
How Maximus Order Discounts Work
Exclusive to new clients, Maximus offers significant savings on first orders when committing to a longer subscription plan for our Testosterone Protocols (as of August 2025). Please also note that at this time Maximus does not currently offer a military or veteran discount.
Please be mindful of the following when making your purchasing decision:
With our longer-term commitments you will be billed monthly
The discount applies exclusively to the first order
Additional lab testing fees may apply
Commitments are not eligible for refunds or pausing, but may be given credit towards other protocols in that there are any issues with the Testosterone protocol
Cancellations will result in automatic billing of the remainder of the commitment and will not be renewed

Paying for Your Subscription
Maximus operates as a cash-pay clinic. Traditional insurance is not accepted.
Medications cannot be purchased separately from the medical program. Treatment includes clinical oversight, ongoing monitoring, and prescription management.
You may be able to use HSA or FSA funds depending on your individual plan. Contact your HSA / FSA provider to confirm eligibility.
Changing Your Plan
You can switch plans at your next renewal through your Dashboard under Manage Subscriptions.
Navigate to your subscription settings by clicking the menu icon in the top-left corner, then select "Manage Orders & Plans." Click "Change Subscription," then "Continue," and follow the prompts to select your new product and plan.
If you want to change plans immediately rather than waiting for renewal, contact Customer Support. Immediate changes may result in prorated charges or cost adjustments depending on the plan difference.
Pausing or Resuming Your Account
You can pause your subscription at any time from your Dashboard under Settings → Pause Account. You may choose to pause for either 30, 60, or 90 days. While paused, you will not be charged and shipments will not be sent.
To resume, return to Settings → Resume Account. In some circumstances you may need to complete a new intake questionnaire to restart treatment.
Pausing does not change the terms of multi-month plans. For quarterly or annual plans, your commitment remains in place even during a pause.
Refunds and Cancellations
All sales are final, as outlined in our Terms Of Use (under Payment Terms and Fees). As such Maximus does not offer refunds for:
Prescription medications
Partially used subscription periods
Medical consultations
Lab work or test kits
Clinical consultations
Exceptions are rare and granted at Maximus's sole discretion, such as for scenarios post-clinical review if you are found to not be eligible for treatment.
Please note that all consultation fees, lab costs, and medical services are strictly non-refundable. Your initial consultation with a Maximus clinician and any required laboratory testing are professional medical services provided at the very beginning of your clinical care journey, and involve our clinical team's time, expertise, and resources to assess your eligibility, discuss potential treatment paths, and gather necessary health information. Like many medical services, once these consultations or lab tests are completed, the fees for those services are considered rendered.
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before your upcoming renewal date. For quarterly and annual plans, cancellation before renewal will instead result in the remaining term balance being converted to account credit, which can be applied to any other Maximus protocol.
