Logistics for the At-Home Testosterone Kit

Updated over a month ago

The At-Home Testosterone Kit is designed to make hormone testing convenient, straightforward, and accessible from home. This section explains how the kit is fulfilled, shipped, processed, and integrated into your Maximus care.

How the Kit Is Shipped

After your order is submitted:

  1. The kit is prepared by a licensed diagnostic partner

  2. It is shipped directly to the address in your Maximus account

  3. You receive tracking information once the kit is on its way

If your address is incorrect or unverified, shipment may be delayed until the issue is resolved.

What’s Included in Your Kit

Your package generally includes:

  • A collection device

  • Clear step-by-step instructions

  • A prepaid return mailer

  • Packaging materials required for safe return

If any component is missing or damaged, Support can coordinate a replacement.

Collecting Your Sample

The kit includes everything needed for safe, at-home sample collection.

For best results:

  • Read the instructions before starting

  • Collect your sample in a well-lit, comfortable space

  • Ensure your hands are clean and warm before using a finger-prick device

Most people complete the process in a few minutes.

Returning Your Sample

Once collected:

  • Place the sample in the included packaging

  • Use the prepaid return mailer

  • Drop it off with the designated carrier

  • Ship Monday–Thursday whenever possible to avoid weekend transit delays

Shipping outside the U.S. is not supported, and international returns cannot be processed.

Lab Processing and Result Timeline

After your sample reaches the lab:

  • Testing begins once the sample passes quality checks

  • Results typically appear in your portal within a standard diagnostic window

  • Processing time may vary depending on lab volume, shipping time, and sample quality

If there’s a notable delay, Support can check with the lab partner and provide an update.

If Your Sample Cannot Be Processed

Samples may occasionally be marked as:

  • Insufficient

  • Clotted

  • Contaminated

  • Incomplete

  • Unable to meet testing requirements

If this happens, Support will reach out to provide next steps.

Clinician Review

Once the lab posts your results:

  1. They appear in your Maximus portal

  2. Your clinician reviews the data

  3. You may receive follow-up questions

  4. The clinician determines whether additional testing or next steps are needed

If your results suggest a potential hormonal imbalance, your clinician may discuss whether other evaluations or treatments could be appropriate.

Support vs. Clinician Roles

Support can help with:

  • Tracking or shipping problems

  • Damaged or missing kit components

  • Lost or stalled packages

  • Replacement kit requests

  • General technical issues

Your clinician can help with:

  • Interpreting your results at a high level

  • Determining whether repeat testing is necessary

  • Discussing your symptoms in context

  • Assessing whether a protocol may be appropriate
