Weight Loss Protocol: Labs, Refills, and Shipping

Explains how the Weight Loss Protocol is started and managed, including prescriptions, shipping, and follow-up care.

This article covers labs, refills, shipping, and how multi-month plans work for the Maximus Weight Loss Protocol. For pricing and plan options, see Weight Loss Plan Pricing. For clinical questions about your protocol, message your clinician through your dashboard.

Labs

Before starting: Your clinician reviews your medical history and baseline lab results to evaluate metabolic health, blood glucose, and other relevant factors before treatment begins.

Follow-up labs: Follow-up labs may be required during treatment to assess your response, monitor key metabolic markers, and determine whether adjustments are needed. You'll be notified through your Maximus account when labs are due.

If labs are overdue: A refill may not be approved until required labs are completed. Check your dashboard for any outstanding items.

Refills and renewals

Prescription renewals depend on follow-up lab results, reported symptoms, overall safety profile, and clinician evaluation. You'll complete a refill questionnaire before each renewal — this is where dose changes are handled. Your clinician reviews your responses and determines whether to continue, adjust, or pause your prescription.

Dose changes on monthly plans: If your clinician determines a dose change is appropriate, it's handled at the refill questionnaire. You don't need to reach out separately.

Dose changes on multi-month plans: On 4, 6, and 12-month plans, shipments go out every 2 months. Because there's no mid-cycle check-in between shipments, your clinician writes the dose change into the script upfront — either keeping you on one dose for the full 2 months, or scheduling a dose increase at the start of Week 5. This is determined at the time of prescribing, not mid-cycle.

Shipping

When does my order ship? Cold-chain medication ships Monday through Thursday only. Maximus does not ship on Fridays to prevent medication sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. Expect delivery Tuesday through Friday.

Monthly plans: One shipment per month. Each shipment contains a 28-day supply.

Multi-month plans (4, 6, 12-month): Shipments go out every 2 months. Each shipment contains a 56-day supply — 8 weeks of medication at a time. You'll receive fewer shipments over the course of your plan, but each one covers a longer stretch.

Name-brand medications (launching June 11) ship monthly through The Pharmacy Hub (TPH), on the same Monday–Thursday cold-chain schedule.

Tracking: Tracking information appears in your Maximus dashboard when your order ships. If tracking hasn't updated within the expected window, contact support.

Prescription fulfillment

Once your prescription is approved, it's sent to a partner pharmacy, prepared, and shipped to your address on file. Compounded medications are fulfilled through licensed 503A compounding pharmacies (EVR, FCC, or VIOS depending on your state). Name-brand medications are fulfilled through The Pharmacy Hub (TPH).

The specific pharmacy fulfilling your prescription depends on your state. The Rx helper in your account routes prescriptions automatically — you don't need to select a pharmacy.

State availability

The Weight Loss Protocol is available in states where Maximus clinicians are licensed. If your address changes, availability may change. Your account reflects your current eligibility. For the full state list, see GLP-1 Availability by State.

Messaging your clinician

Use your patient portal for non-urgent questions about symptoms, side effects, labs, or progress. Urgent or severe symptoms should be addressed through emergency medical care, not through the portal.
