Submitting Lab Results

Learn how to upload lab results through your Maximus dashboard, what file types are accepted, and what to do if you experience issues submitting your labs.

If your clinician requests lab testing, you may submit results either through a Maximus at-home test kit or by uploading results from another laboratory. Quest Diagnostics, for example, does not automatically send results to Maximus, so you will need to upload them manually.

Your clinician will review submitted labs and determine whether they meet protocol requirements.

How to upload lab results

You can upload lab results directly through your Maximus dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Maximus account

  2. Navigate to the Messages section

  3. Select New Message

  4. Attach your lab results as a file

Your clinician will review the uploaded labs and determine whether they meet the protocol requirements.

Accepted file types

Uploaded labs should be clear and readable. Accepted formats typically include:

  • PDF files

  • Images (JPEG or PNG)

  • Official laboratory reports

Blurry, incomplete, or cropped files may require re-uploading.

Using labs from another provider

If you recently completed labs through another provider, you may upload those results for clinician review. For example, if you used Quest Diagnostics, you'll need to upload the results manually since they're not automatically shared with Maximus.

Your clinician will determine whether:

  • The labs are recent enough

  • Required markers are included

  • The results meet protocol requirements

A lab coordinator may also assist in reviewing and processing your uploaded results before they are added to your chart.

Some protocols require specific testing methods, so outside labs may not always be accepted. For details on ordering labs through Maximus or completing a blood draw at Quest Diagnostics, see How can I order and complete blood tests through Maximus, and what are my options for additional markers?.

If you experience upload issues

If you are unable to upload your lab results:

  • Refresh your browser and try again

  • Try uploading a different file format

  • Ensure the file is fully downloaded before uploading

If problems continue, a support specialist can help troubleshoot the issue.

Important note

Max cannot upload files on your behalf or view lab uploads in real time. Your clinician reviews submitted results after they are successfully uploaded. Lab coordinators help ensure uploaded results are processed and added to your chart.
